Color
MAC describes this color as a "metallic brown with red pearl" and it's categorized as a frost finish. Personally, I wouldn't define it as metallic or frosty. There's definitely some sheen. The finish is really interesting. If you only use a sheer wash of color, it looks semi-matte. If you pile on layers, it can look shimmery, but not metallic/ frosty/ reflective. I don't find much red tone in it. To me, it looks pretty neutral. I would describe it as shimmery deep neutral brown.

Formula
The formula is a dream. It's not overly creamy like the more frosty ones like Rubenesque, but it's not as dry as the matte ones like Quite Natural (both are MAC Paint Pots). It's the happy medium. It doesn't go on slippery or dry. It's easy to blend and it sets.

Pigmentation
It's very pigmented. The color you swatch is the color you see in the pot. But it can be sheered out by blending, which is how I wear it for everyday looks. The intensity of the color is very versatile, depending out much you blend and how many layers you apply, which allows you to create the entire eye look with just this product.

Wear
Without eyeshadow primer underneath, it's not the best lasting/wearing product. I notice creasing on my oil lids around the 5-hour mark. But with an eyeshadow primer (my holy grail is NARS Pro Prime), it will last the entire day (8-10 hours) on oily lids. In short, it's not long lasting and it doesn't wear off nicely (mainly due to the finish and the color), but the performance can be improved with primers.

How I Wear It
I wear it on its own on top of an eyeshadow primer, blend it out for sheer wash of color or layer it for night-out looks. I also pair this with colorful bright eyeshadows just to tone down the look and add depth. I did a colorful eye look using this paint pot in this POST.

Here is how I wear it for an everyday look:

Step 1  Get some product on a dense eyeshadow brush.

Step 2  Dab it on your eyelid.

Step 3  Wipe the brush on a tissue or the back of your hand to get rid of the excess. With the same brush, blend it upward a little.

Step 4  Grab a clean fluffy blending brush. Blend out the edges. If you want more depth, just repeat the steps above.

Step 5  Finish it off with some mascara and voila!

Overall, I'm very pleased with the product. It would literally be the perfect product if it wore off/ last better, but I understand that given the finish and the color (which for me really make the product), it's a inevitable sacrifice. I'm all about versatile and easy products and this is definitely one of them. It can work for very fair to tan/dark complexions. It can be used for both daytime and nighttime looks. I know MAC Paint Pots are kind of hit and miss and I've definitely had my hits and misses. Constructivist is definitely a hit and I highly recommend it!
