Worth the Hype? Maybelline Color Tattoo

Top left Bad to the Bronze. Bottom left Tough as Taupe. Right Fierce & Tangy.

Bad to the Bronze. Tough as Taupe. Fierce & Tangy.
These cream eyeshadows have been talked about a lot. People seem to love it’s longevity. So in this post I will talk mostly about the longevity and less about the color. Besides, the color is mostly personal preference.
I have hooded eyelids that can get oily. I have to say that the longevity depends on the finish, just like MAC paintpots. Bad to the Bronze is shimmery. Tough as Taupe is matte. Fierce & Tangy is mostly matte with very little shimmer, which is almost unnoticeable.
I haven’t put Fierce & Tangy on my eyelids so I can’t tell you if it lasts on the eyelids. I’ve put it under my eyes to counteract with the dark circles. It’s very pigmented so be careful if you’d like to do that. It stayed on very well under the eyes.
Tough as Taupe is matte. Many matte cream eyeshadows have creased on my lids. The same applies Tough as Taupe. It doesn’t crease right after application. But it does after a few hours.
Bad to the Bronze is shimmery and it doesn’t crease on me. Same with shimmery MAC paintpots. I’m not sure if it’s because the finish actually doesn’t crease or because the finish makes creasing less noticeable. Anyway, Bad to the Bronze does not crease on my lids. At least there is no noticeable creased lines.
I also find that Tough as Taupe is more difficult to blend out than Bad to the Bronze. It seems sticky, whereas Bad to the Bronze is more creamy and smoother.
So are they worth the hype? It depends on the finishes. The shimmery ones, yes. The matte one, no if you have hooded eyes and/ or oily lids.

L’Occitane Angelica Face Toner

L’Occitane Angelica Face Toner is an alcohol free toner that contains angelica essential oil, which moisturizes the skin.
It’s a bottle with screw on cap. I put it in a spray bottle because I prefer misting.
I appreciate the fact that it doesn’t contain alcohol. However, it is very fragranted. The fragrance is very strong and it is not easy to get used to. I thought I could get used to it but I’ve been using it for a few weeks and I still have to hold my breath when I spray it. However, once it’s absorbed into the skin, you can’t smell it anymore.
I still prefer my Boscia toner over this. I had absolutely no problem with that one. Even though I haven’t experienced any immediate breakout from this L’Occitane toner and I don’t believe any of my breakouts were directly caused by it, I do think the fragrance is making my skin a little intolerant and sensitive. I’ve been getting breakouts more easily.
Another thing about this product is that it tastes terrible. I know it sounds weird but it’s inevitable. If you spray this on, some of it will get on your lips. If you lick your lips or smear on some lip balm, you’ll taste it and it’s very bitter.
Overall, I don’t think it’s a terrible product. It does what it claims, which is moisturizing. However, I still prefer my Boscia toner because it’s much more gentle and natural to the skin and it works just as well in terms of moisturizing.
Bottom line: I would try to use it up, but I would not repurchase this product.

Worth the Hype? Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

image

The shade I have is black. I got this sample size in one of the myglam bags last year.
It’s very creamy and easy to apply. It’s also very pigmented.
I’ve only used it 3 times in a year. Every time I’m very happy with this product until this happens…
image
Yes. Creasing. Every time. (picture taken 5 hours later) Even when I use my holy grail NARS Smudge Proof eyeshadow primer.
I don’t see the hype that it stays on all day. I guess it works for most eyes. But if you have hooded eyes that fold over, this is definitely NOT for you. I can see why people with certain eye shapes love it. Creasing is the only problem for me. If it didn’t crease, I would have LOVED it because I love how it applies and how pigmented it is.
The staying power is definitely not great. It stays on for many people because their eye shapes don’t allow it to transfer.
Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Eyeliners have very good staying power. They don’t crease on me. When you use a new one it is super creamy. But after a few uses it gets dry and harder to apply.

L’Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle

image

image
It looks like a cream but it’s less moisturizing than cream. It’s like tinted dense hair mousse with less moisture if that makes sense… It’s a cream to powder foundation.
image
1. My naked face only with eye makeup. 2. With one layer. 3. With two layers. 4. Finished up with bronzer, blush, and highlight.
I would say it’s a light (one layer) to medium (two layers) coverage. I didn’t over the blemishes with concealer. When it’s buffed out it’s quite powdery, but adhere to the skin better than powder foundations because there is some moisture in the mousse. But it is definitely not moisturizing by any means. It was caught in the little dry patches that could normally be smoothed out with a liquid foundation.
The staying power is not very good. I didn’t set it with a powder because it was already a power finish. But I finished it up with a setting spray, as I always do with other foundations. The foundation started to wear off around 3-4 hours. My blemishes were more visible. However, it wore off quite nicely. I didn’t get patches of foundation.

  4. In a big bowl, well mix sugar, eggs, bananas and butter together.
  5. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt to the mixture in (4.) until well mixed.
  6. Stir in strawberries and white chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the mixture.
